Introduction & Why I decide to go to Sweden?
I’m from Ritsumeikan University, which is located in western part of Japan. In my home university, I am a member of TISA (Tutoring for International Student Association), so you can say I have been among international students for quite a long time. Through this experience, I got interested in other cultures, people from several countries and backgrounds they come from. When I was choosing my next destination, I knew it has to be in Europe, as I have never been there before. I also heard that Sweden offers high education quality and most classes are in English. Jönköping was my final choice as it seemed very international.
Every international student can apply for contact family or buddy before coming to Jönköping. And so did I! I chose one of the families, as I was eager to know better Swedish culture. They are so nice to me. I had lots of good experience! My best memory is when we cooked together, both Swedish and Japanese food. We really enjoyed introducing own culture each other. Moreover, one of family members was interested in Japanese language, so I even managed to teach him some Japanese. It was quite fun. I love my Swedish family.
Jönköping University has lots of unique events in a whole year compared to my home university. Especially when it comes to kick-off week. I didn’t expect to be a part of a such a big event! I think kick-off helps us make friends and become used to Swedish life style. I totally enjoyed that weekJ Moreover, organized school trips are also my favorite cultural events. I participated in the Russian trip. It was literary awesome experience! Anyway, I’m really glad to be here, and love Sweden!!!!!
