These workshops mark the beginning of Action Week, a series of events organized by the JU association, Students for Sustainable Action(SSA), from the 8th to the 14th of April. Representatives from the Life and Peace Institute(LPI) came to Jönköping University to provide us with a small glimpse into the work they do to resolve conflicts and promote peace throughout various communities worldwide.
Through interactive exercises, these initial workshops aimed to get participants thinking about what they might want to change in their societies, what constitutes a peaceful and inclusive society, and how they might be able to contribute to the changes they want to see.
Both the Peacefinders 101 and 102 workshops lay the foundations for the opportunity to attend LPI’s project innovation lab, the Gloco-loco Lab, together with young people from different parts of Sweden as well as youth participants from one of LPI’s other programmes.
From tomorrow onward SSA has many other exciting events planned for the rest of Action Week, such as the next event: From Cocoa To Chocolate – A Workshop About Fairtrade.
